Courses & Workshops
Evaluation & Writing Courses
We developed two practical courses for federal auditors and evaluators with limited formal evaluation education.
The first course, Essential Evaluation Tools & Techniques, covers all phases of the evaluation process. The second course, Write to the Point, focuses on the plain writing principles promoted by the federal Plain Writing Act of 2010.
We have offered both courses several times to staff from across the federal government. In 2007-08, we customized and taught Write to the Point to all 150 evaluators in the HHS OIG's Office of Evaluation & Inspections. In 2010, we offered the course at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Evaluation Workshops for Federal Project Officers and Grantees
We have teamed with other evaluators to develop and deliver evaluation workshops. In one instance, we trained project officers in the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau (HRSA/MCHB). In another, we led workshops for State Agency grantees in HRSA's Traumatic Brain Injury Program.
