John Kelley is Executive Director of Planning and Institutional Research at Villanova University where he also teaches strategic planning and program evaluation on the graduate level. His special interest area is program evaluation in the human services.  

 

John has led over 400 evaluations, particularly in the human services and education. He is very active, both as a trainer and evaluator, in the areas of program evaluation and outcomes assessment.  He has presented approximately 100 papers and published over 25 articles. 

 

John is former President and current Board Member of the Eastern Evaluation Research Society (www.eers.org), a founding member of the National Consortium for Continuous Improvement in Higher Education (www.ncci-cu/org) , and a former Board member of the Higher Education Data Sharing Consortium (www.e-heds.org).

 

Before coming to Villanova, he was Director of Research for the Corporation for Public/Private Ventures, a social policy firm that assists disadvantaged populations.   Earlier in his career, John was a community organizer, directed a community youth center, and was clinical supervisor at a drug & alcohol treatment program.

 

John earned his Ph.D. in social science from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He also holds a master degree in social work and social research from Bryn Mawr College and a philosophy undergraduate degree from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.
